Dentist Cottonwood Heights

Meet JD Hansen, DMD

Owner & Founder of White Peak Dental

Cottonwood Heights dentist Dr JD Hansen

Hello, I'm Dr. JD Hansen, the owner and founder of White Peak Dental. I first became interested in dentistry when on a church mission in Brazil I had my teeth knocked out while playing sports. I learned at a young age that a confident smile can impact one's life. Now as a dentist, I love giving patients the confidence they deserve through a smile they love.

I grew up with music and art and am an advanced pianist. Working with my hands and using tools has always been a joy for me. This has translated into my dental career and is one reason I love being a dentist and working on simple and complex cases.

I received my undergraduate degree at BYU, where I also met my future wife McCall. Shortly after, I started dental school at the University of Louisville and graduated in 2012. I completed a GPR residency at the U of U where I was able to learn about more advanced procedures like implants, wisdom tooth removal, and veneers. I also became certified in IV sedation so I could work on people with dental anxiety, and those with special needs (like my older sister Shae!).

Dr. Hansen and his wife met in a dance class at BYU, and they now have five energetic children, Lydia, Emree, Zander, Deakon, and LaRue. When he isn’t workshopping his dad jokes with them, he likes to mountain bike, volunteer with his church’s youth program, play piano, and coach his kids’ teams.
